Where a jodi chart keeps only the two-digit jodi, a panna chart — also called a panel chart, and in some regions a patti chart — keeps the whole result: the open panna, the jodi and the close panna, for every day a market has run.
Reading one cell
Each cell has three parts. On the left, the three digits of the open panna are stacked top to bottom. In the middle, in large type, is the jodi. On the right, stacked the same way, is the close panna. A cell showing 5-6-0 on the left, 17 in the middle and 7-0-0 on the right is the result 560-17-700.
Single, double and triple pannas
A panna is always written with its digits running from small to large, with 0 counted as ten, so 560 is written as 560 but never 506. Pannas come in three kinds:
- Single panna — three different digits, such as 127 or 560.
- Double panna — two digits the same, such as 118 or 700.
- Triple panna — all three the same, such as 333.
When a result is only half out
Between the open and the close, a cell shows the open panna, the open ank with a star (for example 1*) and stars in place of the close panna. The cell fills in completely the moment the close is declared.
Why use the panna chart
Because it holds every digit of every result, the panna chart is the definitive history of a market. If you want to confirm an old result exactly — not just its jodi — this is the chart to open.
